About Us
Commitment:
The Tampa Bay Area Muslim Association, Inc. is a foundation that focuses on individuals having similar family lives, challenges, country, history and of the same ethnic group. These groups seek to share their aspirations by inspiring one another to reach for higher levels of living. The daily routines were similar as it included a belief system that challenged their thinking and what had become a religious tradition.
They performed regulated tasks daily with sincerity and total commitment, expecting to be elevated morally, educationally, economically, socially and politically. They were committed!
Connection:
The state of Florida is an area on the map of the United States, whose original boundaries extended into the lower parts of the southern states before being the peninsula it is today, June 2022AD. Florida has a history of seceding or separating itself from the union, not once but twice, to maintain the developed system of slavery which included oppression of descendants of what has been and is called Africa. Colonies were formed and many had identifiable forts to house fighters defending Florida’s territory. Spain, France and Great Britain has left indelible marks of architecture, agriculture, writings, geographical community formats of enclaves, political crudeness, and oppressive economical and educational systems.
“Florida’s history and its population of “African” descendants collided in the mid twentieth century with rebellion against the many human injustices. One form of rebellion was in the religious context, whereby many “African” descendants who had been religiously dedicated to the rituals of identifying with a “god” in the image and complexion of the oppressors. A rebirth of information shared with some of the “Florida’s history and its population of “African” descendants collided in the mid twentieth century with rebellion against the many human injustices. One form of rebellion was in the religious context, whereby many “African” descendants who had been religiously dedicated to the rituals of identifying with a “god” in the image and complexion of the oppressors. A rebirth of information shared with some of the “African” descendants, bonded them in a way that it became utterly obvious that their connection was not going to go unchallenged by systemized oppressors. Nonetheless, the “African” descendants made a commitment to stay connected and their lives were transformed right before the eyes of the oppressors and those of their immediate families who did not take on or take heed to the information being shared. This connection was known as “The Nation of Islam.” They had a connection with the leader through having a mutual respect for G-D, worshipping in a traditional manner that benefitted the oppressors physically, mentally and emotionally. The “African” descendants had a moral and spiritual connection that lifted them to a belief system that would prove to be advantageous for the oppressed and the oppressors, as time went on into the late twentieth century. The enslavement had been so intrusive in the thinking of the “African” descendants that they shifted from seeing a god in the complexion of the oppressor to seeing a god in the image of their own likeness or complexion. Evolving information would transform them even more to a conscientious concept of self and their relationship with and understanding of G-D.
